Dr Lim’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Computing from the National University of Singapore in 2005. He then pursued his passion for medicine, earning his graduate medical degree from the University of Sydney in 2009. Following his housemanship in Sydney, Australia, he returned to Singapore to contribute to the local medical system. His dedication to his field led him to complete his Urology Surgical Training in 2017 and his robotic surgery fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney, Australia, under the guidance of Prof David Gillatt in 2022.
A keen innovator, Dr Lim was awarded the Singapore-MIT Innovation Fellowship in 2017. He is actively involved in the medical device innovation scene and holds patents in his work. Dr Lim was the first medical doctor appointed Principal Medical Investigator by Artificial Intelligence Singapore (AISG) for his pioneering grant in Natural Language Processing and has since won multiple AI grants from AISG and Ministry of Health RIEP grants. His expertise and contributions to the field are evident in the 13 research grants he held from 2016 to 2022 and his numerous international publications.
Dr Lim’s commitment to the medical field extends beyond his clinical practice. He is an active educator, lecturer, and mentor for students, medical officers, and urology residents. His contributions to medical education have been recognized, as evidenced by his roles as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NUS YLL School of Medicine, a Clinical Instructor at Duke-NUS Medical School, and a Clinical Teacher at NTU-LKC School of Medical School. His dedication was further acknowledged when he won the Urology Outstanding Faculty award in 2020.
Before joining Pan Asia, Dr Lim served in the public healthcare system for over a decade, including a role as a consultant Endourologist at Singapore General Hospital. He is passionate about treating patients and believes good communication is key to a strong Doctor-Patient relationship. His clinical interests lie in Robotic Surgery, Endourology, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr Lim also dedicates his time to community service, regularly volunteering with nursing homes and school alumni committees.
